James Roberts, General Manager of Group Fraud at Commonwealth Bank, said: “Today marks the first day of operation for the National Anti-Scams Centre, which will bring together banks, the  telecommunications industry, digital platforms and government to fight scams.

“CBA is pleased to be working with ASIC, the ACCC and other participants from the NASC's first ‘fusion cell’ focusing on fighting investment scams which are the largest scam by value.

“As a member of the fusion cell, CBA is fully committed to putting our resources towards tackling investment scams. Detecting, disrupting, and deterring perpetrators is a national priority that needs this type of coordinated response from law enforcement, government, businesses across a range of sectors and consumers.”
